Mixing
In our studios, both stereo and surround/Atmos mixes (ranging from 5.1 to 7.1.4) are possible. Our systems support the latest video and audio formats, and all studios are acoustically optimized. Thanks to the full integration of sound, video, and network applications, it is possible to work simultaneously on the same project. This enables us to meet tight deadlines with ease. Our mixes always comply with all technical requirements, regardless of the country or medium.
Sound improvement
Thanks to the use of dedicated software and AI applications, poor audio recordings can be significantly improved, whether due to disruptive environmental factors, technical issues, or archival material.
Sounddesign/ADR
Breathe new life into your archival material, restore a poor field recording, or opt for an original soundscape. With an extensive collection of sound effects, the use of specialized plugins, and foley capabilities, your story gains an added dimension.
Recording
Our four studios are fully equipped. One studio is divided into a separate acoustically treated Voice Booth and a mixing room. A second studio is a fully soundproofed and acoustically optimized space where voice recordings can also take place. In this space, the technician, voice director, and voice actor(s) are present. The booths are equipped with Universal Audio Tube Preamps, which can be paired with Neumann, Josephson, or DPA microphones. Scroll over the Studios tab for more information about each studio.
Remote Recording
A call-in service is also available. Through a secure link, the director can follow the audio recording (including video) online and provide guidance via video chat. This can be done from anywhere in the world. All that’s needed is a broadband internet connection and a Firefox or Google Chrome browser. Naturally, other forms of video conferencing are also possible. Please inform us in advance if you would like to make use of this service.
Online review
Listen to the finished mix anytime, anywhere. You can listen to the completed program on any (mobile) device and add comments if needed. These comments are then applied to the existing mix sessions. This way, you can quickly achieve the desired result without needing to find some extra time in your schedule for an on-site review (which we still prefer).
Workflow
Each project requires a unique approach. After extensive consultation with our dedicated team, we create both a technical plan and an audio post-production schedule. Within the agreed-upon budgetary constraints, we offer personalized guidance for your project. This ensures smooth and clear communication, as well as a consistent mixing style throughout the entire process.
Delivery specifications
The video edit is delivered file-based in MXF (MPEG-2, ProRes 422 Proxy/HD, DNxHD, 16:9, 25FPS, resolutions up to Full HD/4K). The audio material to be edited is provided to us as an AAF file (24 bits, 48kHz), either embedded or not. For digital delivery, send the material to "techniek@studiomm.be". The final mix is sent as an audio file (format of your choice). Archiving of audio projects, booking professional voice-overs, delivering international audio versions, and online reviews are all available upon request.
